The past several years have seen a surge in popularity of vintage style wedding rings and bridal jewelry. These styles capture the timelessness of classic bridal design which adds to the symbolic nature of the eternal promise represented by the wedding ring.

Vintage style wedding rings usually feature white metal, either gold or platinum, and design features such as micro pave and millgrain edging. A common element is the use of open space such as with delicate filligree work. Another technique employed to create the antique look and feel is intricate engraving. With its rectagular outline and rounded corners it evokes the look of the earliest cut diamonds which were the precursors of the round brilliant. Because of the limitations of early faceting technology they had similar appearance. With today's technology, cushion cuts can have that old world feel combined with excellent fire and brilliance and are a prime choice as a center stone for a vintage style wedding ring.
