The appraisals are conducted by an independent appraisal firm and each document is signed by a Graduate Gemologist of the GIA. The professional documentation will include gemological details of the gemstones and materials, a photograph of the item, and an evaluation of replacement cost. Replacement appraisals are conservative in nature relative to retail valuations. They are better rooted in the real world market and do not result in elevated insurance premiums.
